I’ve always viewed swimming sort of like my least favorite vegetable — I knew it was good for me, but I never really liked it. While I grew up with a backyard pool and swam a lot in the ocean (in Southern California) growing up, I’ve never enjoyed swimming laps for exercise. My grandfather would tell me time and time again I needed to take up the sport back in my long distance running days, and I would ignore him (mostly). I don’t think I ever in my life swam laps for more than thirty minutes at a time before your class. I am so glad your classes have shown me that swimming for exercise can be fun too!
Now I absolutely crave my time swimming laps. I love it.
